Yakubu returns to training as Robins confirms no new injuries prior to Bristol Rovers clash

COVENTRY City manager Mark Robins has confirmed this morning striker Yakubu has returned to full training following a hamstring injury.

The Sky Blues play Bristol Rovers at the Ricoh Arena tomorrow afternoon (3pm) – their final game before facing Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy Final at Wembley next Sunday.

Robins said: “No new injuries, as we were. We’re fairly okay.

“Yakubu is on the training ground, looking to see where I can fit him in.

“He’s had quality throughout the years, but we’ll need to work with him and assess him over the next week.”

He added: “They need to deliver a similar performance to Tuesday night. I’m looking for that intrinsic stuff, the really desire to go and win a football match.

“It is a small step forward, and we need to take another small step tomorrow. The only priority is the Bristol game, we’ve got to focus on that.

“Clearly Wembley is totally down the pecking order, and behind Bristol Rovers. I’ve got to get this game played and hopefully won, then we’ll think about Wembley.

“In a playing capacity, I’ve never lost at Wembley. Never been there as a manager. It is a new experience for me.”
