WORLD Snooker Champion Mark Selby will return to Coventry next month when he plays an exhibition evening at the Arches snooker venue in Spon End.
The live music venue will play host to Selby on July 27, just months after the ‘Jester from Leicester’ clinched his first ever world title at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield back in May.
Selby, who used to play in the Coventry league earlier in his career, clinched a courageous 18-14 win over favourite Ronnie O’Sullivan despite being 10-5 down at one stage against the Rocket.
He will play an exhibition of both snooker and pool and there will also be a sporting memorabilia auction and raffle with one prize being two front row tickets for a session at next year’s World Championships.
The Arches has played host to some of the biggest name in snooker including Ken Doherty, Matthew Stevens and Jimmy White, as well as other famous sports stars like darts legend Eric Bristow.
Tickets for the exhibition are priced at £20 and can be purchased by ringing 02476 711010 or visit archesvenue.co.uk.
