DESPITE going in level through a direct corner goal from Mollie Green, Coventry United Ladies found themselves on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat in Sunday’s trip to Charlton Athletic.

The latest FA Women’s Championship encounter leaves the Red and Greens winless after two games, along with newly-promoted Watford, with Ella Rutherford’s double and a Bethan Roe goal enough to down Jay Bradford’s side.

A second home game of the season at Butts Park Arena now follows on Sunday, where Coventry take on Sheffield United looking for their first three-point haul this term.

The Blades picked up their first win this term against Durham, also by a 3-1 scoreline, thanks to Lucy Watson, Jessica Clarke and Sophie Bradley-Auckland strikes.
