COVENTRY Blaze have signed American centreman Peyton Frantti for the 2022/23 Elite League season.
The 24-year-old joins the Blaze following a brief stint with the Fayetteville Marksmen of the SPHL where he registered five points (two goals, three assists) in seven regular season and playoff games.
Frantti’s move to the Marksmen followed his graduation from St. Norbert College where he spent three seasons playing in the NCAA III.
With the ‘Green Knights’, Frantti was consistently amongst the team’s top point and goal-scorers amassing 105 points (45 goals, 60 assists) in 85 regular season games.
In both 2018/19 and 2019/20 the Spring Grove native was a NCHA All-Star and in the earlier year had two assists in the final to help the college win the CHA Harris Cup Playoffs.
Prior to his time with St. Norbert, Frantti iced in the NAHL with the Odessa Jackalopes and Topeka Roadrunners where he contributed 84 points (30 goals, 54 assists) in 119 regular season games.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said: “Peyton had a great college career and phenomenal senior year. He was second in the country in points per game, and brings other intangibles that we are excited about.
“He’s got great size, moves well and is good in the circle. We feel he has a high ceiling to get better at the pro level, and will contribute in lots of areas, including offensively.”
