COVENTRY Blaze have confirmed the return of British defenceman David Clements for the 2022/23 Elite League season.
The 27-year-old year old will enter a seventh season with the Blaze, during which he has become a Great Britain International.
Clements recorded a career-high 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in 61 Elite League Competition games last season and was selected for a second consecutive IIHF World Championships by Britain.
The blue-liner has now moved up to 11th on the club’s all-time appearance list (381) with 69 points (13 goals, 56 assists).
Head Coach Danny Stewart said: “Clem gets better every year, and has become a key part of our organisation on and off the ice.
“With additional opportunity last season, he made some strides with his production, and will be given every opportunity to build on that next season. It’s a big year for him.”
Before turning professional, Clements spent three seasons with the Ogden Mustangs of the WSHL where he was made captain and became the team’s all-time leading points scorer for a defenceman.
