OCTAVIAN Droober’s young guns impressed at the annual National Junior Inter Club Orienteering final in Norfolk.
The club were represented by 21 junior members in Sandringham vying for the Yvette Baker trophy, eventually placing fourth with an overall score of 849 points.
Nine of the club’s scores counted towards the final tally, with David Knott claiming a top score of 98 on the Orange Boys course, whilst Ollie Flippance and Felix Lunn on the Green Boys, and Pippa Smart in the Green Girls, all scored 97.
Josie Smart (Light Green Girls) scored 96, whilst Florence Lunn (Green Girls, 95 points), Max Straube-Roth (First Timer, 90 points), Jonathan Jilks (Yellow Boys, 89 points) and Isla Prince (Orange Girls, 89 points) also impressed.
Meanwhile on the course for parents held prior to the final, Alistair Landels (M50) and Alistair Powell (M40) finished second and third respectively on the Open Blue course.
The Droobers are open to newcomers joining the club, with a number of events lined up throughout the summer across Warwickshire.
