There's more to come from City - O'Hare

PLAYMAKER Callum O’Hare expressed his relief at ending a six-month goal drought in Saturday’s 6-1 drubbing of Millwall on the final day of the Championship season, and predicts for better days to come for the Sky Blues.

Coventry City finished in 16th place in their first season back in the second tier of English football, a considerable effort considering fellow promoted sides Wycombe Wanderers and Rotherham United both suffered relegation heartache this term.

Scoring the fourth goal during their goal-laden final bow at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s home, prior to their return to the Ricoh Arena in 2021/22, O’Hare says the emphatic result was the latest sign of Coventry’s progress.

“I think we have had a great season and the main aim was to stay up and we did that,” said the 23-year-old.

“I feel like I am improving and the team is improving, I think we have learnt in the Championship and the last few results show that.

“I have been desperate for [a goal for] so long now and it has not been going for me, but I was buzzing to get one at the end.

“It will be nice to get a rest, but we have got to keep pushing on and hopefully we can keep progressing up the table.

“This season we had to lift each other up at times but we have gone out there and done the business.”
