RUGBY UNION: EXPERIENCED second row forward Brendon Snyman has had his Coventry career cut short after the parting company with the National League One club following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary hearing.
The South African coach joined the ‘Blue & Whites’ last summer in a new player coach role and brought a wealth of experience to the Butts Park Arena.
Snyman enjoyed a successful playing career in his native South Africa before enjoying spells in both France and England, more recently at London Welsh.
He made 13 National League One appearances for Coventry this season but has now left the club with immediate effect.
Coventry’s director of rugby, Rowland Winter, said: “I cannot fault Brendon’s efforts on the pitch, and on behalf of the club we thank him and wish him well for the future.”
The squad resumed training this week at the Alan Higgs Centre after a Christmas break with Boris Stankovich continuing in his enhanced role of overall forwards coach and return to league action on Saturday with a trip to Macclesfield.
Winter added: “We are looking forward to playing Macclesfield next weekend. The squad is fully fit and raring to go following a well-deserved Christmas break.
“The aim is to continue our good form and start 2017 with a strong away performance.”
