THE KING of the Crucible Stephen Hendry will be showcasing his skills in Coventry later this month when he performs to snooker fans at The Arches Snooker Club.
The seven-time world champion is the latest big name from the sport to play an exhibition at the popular venue on May 29.
The legendary Scot who won a record breaking 36 ranking titles and is the most decorated player after to grace the green baize. He retired from the sport in 2012 and is now mainly working as a pundit for the BBC at major events.
Hendry follows in the footsteps of Mark Selby, Jimmy White, Ken Doherty and Ronnie O’Sullivan who have all visited Coventry in recent months. He will take on all of the top players in Coventry for eight frames of snooker.
Co-promoter Shaun Harkin said: “The usual discussion in snooker circles is, in their prime who was better, Hendry or O’Sullivan?
“After having Ronnie here twice this year, The Arches Venue wanted to give the public the chance to judge for themselves .
“We have several young local players who are trying to become snooker professionals so what better test for them than to play the seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry in front of a sell out crowd”
