RACING - Ingram moves top of BTCC standings

COVENTRY’s Tom Ingram moved top of the driver standings in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) after three top-seven finishes at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire.

Ingram qualified in fourth and remained in the same position at the end of race one before achieving a podium place in race two after crossing the line in second.

And Ingram finished the weekend with a seventh-place finish in race three to continued his remarkable season – failing to finish in the top-10 just twice in 21 races thus far.

Ingram who drives a Hyundai i30N for Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8 now tops the driver standings on 195 points just three ahead of championship rival Josh Cook.

The BTCC resumes in Scotland at Knockhill on the weekend of July 30/31.
