BULKINGTON-based rider Adam Jones won his first race in the Carbon8 Hyundai Coupe Cup at Silverstone.
The 20-year-old drives for Roger Owens Racing and won the 45-minute endurance race by holding off Alistair Dendy for the final 10 minutes in a thrilling encounter.
And Jones crossed the line less than a second clear of both second and third place with as many as five drivers in the mix heading towards the sharp end of the grid.
Jones is in his first full season of motor racing and was competing in the third British Automobile Racing Club meeting of the year.
Jones said: “I am delighted. It was a tough race and I am looking for more victories this year.”
Team Owner Roger Owens added: “Adam is at the start of his racing career and we are over the moon with his mature performance.”
The next round takes place at Thruxton in Hampshire in July as Jones continues his journey to become a British Touring Car racer.
