VIK Sodhi and Will Iles both blasted centuries to power Coventry & North Warwickshire to a 74-run Warwickshire Premier League victory away to Bedworth.
Sodhi (103 not out) and Iles (100) led the visitors to 246-5 from 38 overs.
Then after a rain interruption saw the home side’s target adjusted under Duckworth Lewis to 263, Finn Haynes top-scored with a fluent unbeaten 70-ball 83 as Bedworth closed their 38 overs on 188-6.
Haynes (2-45) and Josh Thomas claimed an early wicket apiece to reduce the visitors to 17 for two before Iles and Sodhi put together a superb 178-run third-wicket partnership.
Iles was first to three figures before falling to James Cooper for a 96-ball 100 which included ten fours and three sixes.
And his captain’s unbeaten 103 was only marginally slower – coming from 102 balls with 11 fours and three sixes.
The home side’s stiff task became even tougher after the application of Duckworth Lewis increased their target by 17 further runs. But with Ryan Parnell (31) and Jamie Parnell (42) making useful contributions Haynes accelerated to good effect.
Coventry sit third in the table and face a crunch battle on Saturday when they entertain leaders Walmley.
