LESLEY Ross helped guide England to victory over Scotland in a Veteran Home International match in Edinburgh with her individual and relay performances.
The contest, organised by Edinburgh South Orienteering Club, pitted England and Scotland against each other, with the visitors claiming a resounding victory in the Scottish capital.
Octavian Droobers member Ross triumphed alongside two male colleagues on Saturday in the relay event, followed by a finish of third in an individual race the following day.
In the 12th London City race, Richard Gardner (M65) led the way for the Droobers contingent, finishing eighth in the men’s Ultra Vet 7.7km course, while Liz Phillips (W55) came ninth in the women’s Super Vets 5.5km race.
Nine of the club’s orienteers raced to victories at the West Midlands Relays Championships across three different classes.
The trio of Florence Lunn, Pippa Smart and Tabitha Lunn won the Intermediate women’s class, while Harriet Lawson, Ka Man Leung and Anne Straube were victorious in the Open women’s category.
Oliver Lunn, Luke Cherry and Felix Lunn then lifted the Intermediate men’s trophy to cap off a fine afternoon for the club.
