Natawidjaja and Prior the difference as Brinklow win Division D opener

Coventry Editorial 9th Sep, 2019   0

MATTY Natawidjaja’s brace helped Brinklow U15’s on the way to an opening 3-2 win in Division D of the Coventry & Warwickshire Youth League.

Ryan Prior was also on the scoresheet, helping the hosts get the better of Southam in a well-contested affair.

Southam went closest to breaking the deadlock in the opening stages, hitting the post, before the hosts went in front on 15 minutes through Natawidjaja.

The visitors levelled with a penalty but were immediately subjected to efforts from Kye Gilbey and Prior – with both being kept out to ensure parity between the two sides at the break.

Natawidjaja resumed the lead after half time, but Southam were unrelenting and levelled for a second time.

With time ticking away, Prior curled home a stunning effort from range to settle the contest and give Brinklow their first three points of the season.

Next up for the juniors is a trip to Binley Woods on Sunday (11am).
