IT WAS a busy weekend of racing for Coventry SC who were involved in the second round of the Mercia League as well as the British Masters Championships in Plymouth.
After an impressive first round win in the Mercia League back in April, the team carried on where they left off with another convincing win against some strong opposition.
Out of a possible 51 races, Coventry achieved a top-two finish in 38 of them, including 25 first places.
A special mention went to the boys’ and girls’ 10/under age groups who won all of their relays.
Meanwhile, a ten-strong team travelled to Plymouth for the British Masters Championships.
It was a high-quality meet with several British, European and even world records broken.
Special mentions to Rebecca Ewers (third in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle), Fiona Cunningham (third in the 100m breaststroke and 200m IM), Claire Coventry (third in 400m freestyle), John Smith (second in 50m fly and third in 100m fly) and Sophie Matthews and Susan Geill (third in the 200m freestyle).
