Injury news: Top scorer Vallerand to complete 'light skate' on Tuesday to help Blaze assess fitness

ICE HOCKEY: BLAZE top scorer Marco Vallerand will complete a ‘light skate’ on Tuesday after missing this weekend’s games against Milton Keynes.

The popular forward picked up a knock during Blaze’s game against Nottingham Panthers on December 30, and he has been absent from the Blaze bench since.

After missing Blaze’s game against Panthers on New Year’s Day and a pair of fixtures this weekend, coach Danny Stewart still couldn’t assure fans he will be fit for next week.

But he did confirm Vallerand has felt ‘a lot better’ in recent days.

Stewart said: “The plan for him is to have a light skate on Tuesday to see how he feels.

“We’ll see what the progress is from there.

“He’s a big part of our puzzle. But his health is the most important thing.”
