Illness forces Coventry boxer Joe Sheriff out of midlands title fight

Shaun Reynolds 21st Nov, 2017   0

BOXING: COVENTRY boxer Joe Sheriff has pulled out of this weekend’s fight against Ricky Summers due to illness.

Sheriff was due to face Ricky Summers for the vacant Midlands Area Light Heavyweight title.

But an illness has put pay to any hopes Sheriff had of competing, and Summers will now fight Romero Gonzalo at the Imperial Banqueting Suite, Bilston, on Saturday, November 25.

The show – which was due to take place at Walsall Town Hall – switched venues following the death of Reagan Asbury at a boxing event held in Walsall last month.

As a sign of respect to all affected, BCB Promotions switched the venue for Saturday’s fight night.

A ten bell salute will be rung before the main event as a mark of respect.
