COVENTRY Blaze have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Elite League season with a statement signing.
Experienced Canadian forward Michael Pelech has joined the club from Hungarian side UTE.
The 35-year-old recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 16 games for UTE last season. He also scored one goal in the play-offs.
He previously made 75 appearances for Glasgow Clan between 2023 and 2025 where he served as an associate captain.
Pelech talled 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists) during his time in the Elite League.
Blaze head coach, Kevin Moore said: “Michael is a big, strong centreman who brings a reliable, veteran presence down the middle of the ice.
“He excels in the face-off circle and can score gritty goals at the net front.
“His experience will be important in our team’s success, and we are excited to welcome him to Coventry.”
The Toronto native boasts a distinguished career in the ECHL.
He is the all-time leader in games played with 884 regular season appearances and 65 play-off games.
During his time in the ECHL, he amassed 720 points (220 goals, 500 assists) playing for the Atlanta Gladiators, Utah Grizzlies and Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
