THE Vintage Motorcycle Club, Grasstrack and Speedway Section are hosting a Grasstrack meeting near Leamington next month.
Vintage Motorcycle Club are hosting two meetings in the 2022 season the first of which takes place on Sunday, June 12 at Victory Field, Banbury Road (B4100), Ashorne near Leamington Spa, CV33 9QJ.
Practice starts at 10.30am and the first race comes to tapes at 12.30pm.
Admission prices are: adults £12, concessions £10, under-16’s free, programmes £2 – a small price for 40-plus races. Refreshment outlets will be on site.
The second Grasstrack meeting takes place later in the year on Sunday, September 11.
Grasstrack Racing shares many similarities with Speedway with an oval track, four laps of pulsating racing and the advantage of being able to view the whole track from wherever you stand or sit.
And Grasstrack bikes have many different capacity engines, two strokes, four strokes, from 50cc right up to 1000cc whilst the age of the bikes ranges from 50-plus years, right up to modern day.
Grasstrack is an individual sport for both solo and sidecars, with riders both male and female competing on equal terms aged from six to 70-years-old.
The Midlands was previously a hotbed of Grasstrack and has seen a resurgence in recent times.
