KYE Gilbey’s hat-trick sent Brinklow under-15s to the top of Coventry & Warwickshire Youth League Division D on Sunday.
The forward starred in an 8-2 thrashing of hosts Rugby Town Valley Saints.
William Barnett started the rout for the visitors on 15 minutes, followed by two from Harry Shorten to put Brinklow in a commanding lead at the break.
Moments after the restart, Gilbey fired his first, before a penalty from Arjun-Veer Singh Sembi made it 5-0.
Ryan Prior blasted the ball home with a ferocious strike for 6-0 before Arron Colmer reduced the arrears for the hosts.
Gilbey struck twice from rebounds to chalk up his hat-trick before Colmer’s second gave the Valley Saints a late consolation.
Brinklow visit eighth-placed Firefighters in their next match on Sunday, October 27 (11am).
