HAJI Wright scored an injury time winner as Coventry City produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat 10-man Luton Town 3-2 and climb out of the relegation zone.

Wright completed the turnaround with a finish from point-blank range in the 92nd minute after Luton defender Tom Holmes saw red moments earlier at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

That came after Carlton Morris and Elijah Adebayo fired the visitors into a two-goal lead at the break only for Ellis Simms and Victor Torp to draw the Sky Blues level after the interval.

The result lifts Coventry out of the Championship relegation zone as City brought their three-game winless run to an end.

Luton broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Morris scored from the penalty spot after Tatsuhiro Sakamoto fouled Tahith Chong in the box.

And the Hatters doubled their lead on 37 minutes as Adebayo lifted a shot over the onrushing Oliver Dovin from eight-yards out from Tom Krauss’s pass.

However, the Sky Blues halved the deficit on 59 minutes when Simms ended a six-game goal drought as he superbly headed in Jack Rudoni’s corner from the right at the near post.

And subsittute Torp scored a stunning equaliser on 79 minutes as he curled a sublime effort into the net from the edge of the penalty area via the aid of the post to net his first Championship goal.

Luton lost defender Holmes to a red card in the final minute after he picked up a second yellow card for pulling down Wright as the USA international looked to break clear down the right.

And the Sky Blues scored a dramatic winner in the second minute of injury time when Wright bundled the ball home on the line after Luton failed to clear Simms’ initial goalbound header to spark wild scenes of celebration.
