GYMNASTS from Woodlands Gymnastics and Tumbling Club scooped a whopping ten medals in the recent West Midlands Tumbling Championship.
Competing against the best gymnasts from all over the West Midlands at the event which was held in Wednesbury at the end of last month, Woodlands came away with five gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
Lily Cauchi took gold in the 8-10 girls category, while Danail Barakova-Trankov achieved that feat in the same age group for the boys, and the pair teamed up with Joe Aston and Joe Russell to win the 8-10 year-old team category.
Shingirai Mhembere took gold in the boys 14+ category and took first place along with Chloe Holton, Lee Harris and Georgie Kelly in the team category.
Other medal winners included silver for Marcus Adams in the 11+ category and he also won silver alongside Molly Rudd, Thomas D’Souza and Storm-Lee Allan in the team category.
Charlotte Calvert took silver in the girls 14+ event, while Georgie Kelly and Lee Harris came away with bronze in the 14+ category.
Head Coach, Milen Trankov said: “We are delighted with the results. Our tumbling squad range from 8 – 18 year olds and they have all worked extremely hard in preparation for this important event.
“I am thrilled that their effort and dedication has paid off.”
Gymnasts from Woodlands Gymnastics and Tumbling Club have had enormous success throughout the year, competing and medaling at a Tumbling Competition in Boston, Lincs and also the National Tumbling competition at Telford earlier this year.
