Coventry Bees set to honour Chris Harris with testimonial

Coventry Editorial 9th Feb, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

BEES riders of past and present will be out in force to show their dedication for Chris Harris during his testimonial meeting which will recognise his services to British Speedway.

‘Bomber’s Big Bang’ takes place at Brandon on March 29 (2pm start) and will feature a major Individual event over 24 races and a host of other attractions and entertainment.

The current Bees skipper joined Brandon in 2004 and has spent all but two seasons with the Bees where he has won three Elite League titles as well as a Knockout Cup, Craven Shield and EL Pairs on two occasions apiece.

The Testimonial line-up is set to include several star names, including current colleagues Hans Andersen, Danny King and Jason Garrity, along with ex-Bees trio Kyle Howarth, Edward Kennett and Simon Stead, and Denmark’s former Grand Prix man Kenneth Bjerre.

The main meeting will be run on the basis of the first format to be used in the Grand Prix series between 1995-97 which consists of 20 heats followed by D, C, B and A Finals with prizes on each of those races and a major cash prize on the A Final.

In addition, pre-meeting entertainment will feature some of the sport’s rising stars from the British Youth Championship, under the direction of Neil Vatcher, and additional attractions are also planned.

Supporters are warmly invited to stay around after the meeting for the Disco and Auction in the Under-Stand Bar.

Gates open at midday, and there are numerous further ways in which supporters and sponsors can get involved, with packages available for young children to be rider mascots; and options also include VIP tickets for full hospitality, rider sponsorship packages and fuel, tyre and race sponsorship.

Details of all available options can be found at chrisharrisracing.com/testimonial.php and use the Contact section to get in touch with the meeting organisers.
