COVENTRY Blaze have added American defenceman Dillon Eichstadt to their roster for the 2019/20 Elite League.
Eichstadt joins Blaze from his hometown of Bemidji, Minnesota, where he represented Bemidji State University for four years in the NCAA.
Playing 134 games in the conference, he scored 32 points during that time, and was twice named on the WCHA All-Academic team.
The 6’0″ left-shooter has good pedigree as he prepares to make the move to the West Midlands, and has tasted success with Bemidji State having won the NCAA regular season back in 2016/17.
Blaze head coach Danny Stewart says he can’t wait to see Eichstadt in the blue and white of Coventry.
“We are excited about Dillon. He’s coming from a great program at Bemidji and has had a lot of success there.
“He’s a proven winner, lifting championships in the USHL and NCAA.
“We are getting a very mobile, puck moving defenceman that plays well on both sides of the puck. He’s got a good work ethic and offensive upside.
“He’s an engine that can log good minutes for us and we will look to him to contribute at both ends of the ice.”
