COVENTRY Godiva Harriers hosted their first traditional Midlands League meeting since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
And Godiva excelled at their home track to sit top of the league after one fixture with the new league structure awarding athletes for high-level performances in events.
Godiva’s Francessca Rivers set a personal best of 11.47m in the triple jump as she won the event to claim five bonus points whilst also placing first in the high jump and B long jump.
There was also success for Yasmin Henlon who won the B high jump and B triple jump respectively whilst Cheuk Yan Lam won the discus B, javelin A and placed third in the shot put A on debut.
Harriers athlete Charlie Roe won the 110m hurdles in 15.47 seconds and gained an additional five points for high performance.
And Nathan Petch also scored an additional five points in the 400m hurdles after placing second in a time of 56.42 secs.
The success continued for Godiva when Joseph Gilkes recorded another post 15m to win the triple jump and gain a further five points.
Godiva were also victorious in the hammer throw as Andrejs Virsics placed first with a 48.40m throw to gain five bonus points whilst Jake Minshull won the 400m and set a new Division 2 record of 48.80 secs in the process.
The next fixture takes place on Sunday, June 5 at Abingdon.
