Zoe's Place gears up for new year of fundraising

ZOE’S PLACE Baby Hospice has launched its fundraising events for 2017.

The beloved city hospice is encouraging charitable local people to get involved in events including a sponsored bike ride across Ireland, obstacle courses, tandem sky dives and more to raise vital funds.

Cyclists are being encouraged to saddle up for the ‘Giant Cause’ challenge – peddling from Cork to the Giants Causeway in Ireland over 4 days in September 2017.

Registration Fee is £150 (deferred until 1st February 2017 if you sign up in 2016) with a required sponsorship target of £1,500.

In May, daredevils have been invited to sign-up to take part in a tandem skydive in aid of the hospice.

Registration is free, but participants will be required to raise at least £400 in sponsorship.

For the non-adrenaline junkies, the hospice is also hosting its Glitz and Glamour Charity Showcase on February 11.

Tickets to the night of comedy and dance – hosted by renowned drag performer Sabrina Duncan – cost just £10 each for the first one hundred people to sign up.

The hospice is also on the hunt for men and women wanting to transform themselves from ‘Bambi on ice’ into Torvill and Dean.

As part of the Strictly Ice Dancing challenge, contestant will learn to skate in just 12 weeks with help from World and Olympic Coach, Yuri Bureiko, before performing a solo dance in front of a live audience on June 17, 2017.

All willing participants need to do is commit to two lessons per week and raise a minimum of £500 sponsorship.
