Youths 'carrying baseball bats' raid Coventry home

THREE youths ‘carrying baseball bats’ stole expensive items after raiding a house in Coventry.

And the homeowner has appealed for information from anyone who saw the youths or an SUV they escaped in on Poundgate Lane, Canley, at around 2pm.

The resident said: “We got home from work today (Wednesday, May 29) and found our house had been broken into.

“We have CCTV of three youths armed with baseball bats jumping over our fence, throwing a plant pot through our back window.




“The alarm went off but they still entered the house, stole a number of high value items including jewellery, watches etc and escaped in a car.

“This all happened between 2.05pm and 2.15pm and we think the car was a grey/light blue Peugeot 3008 SUV with three to four youths in it.”


A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a burglary in Poundgate Lane.

“A number of items of jewellery were taken from the house.

“Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or call 101 anytime giving log number 1661 of 29 May.
