WORK has started on 84 new homes – including 52 affordable properties – in Exhall near Coventry, writes Amy Ford.
The former Hawkesbury Golf Club – some 8.4acres of land, has been used for the development from regeneration specialist Vistry and Clarion, the largest social landlord in the country.
Clarion which owns 52 of the 84 homes will offer its properties for affordable rent and shared ownership whilst the remaining 32 houses will be open for market sale selling under the Linden Homes brand with houses ranging from two to four bedrooms.
Richard Cook, Clarion Housing Group’s director of development, said: “Working with Vistry Partnerships, we’re looking forward to delivering much-needed affordable homes in Hawkesbury Village as part of a high-quality, mixed tenure development.
“We hope that it will become a thriving and vibrant community.”
The teams have considered people at all the different stages of their lives, making the new-builds accessible for all and hopefully creating a new and diverse neighbourhood in the process.
Andrew Reynolds, Vistry Partnerships East Midlands’ managing director, said: “This is a great mixed tenure development opportunity for us in Exhall with great links to major nearby cities.
