POLICE have released video footage after an eight-year-old girl was seriously injured in a hit and run in Coventry.

The girl, who remains in hospital in a critical condition with a head injury, was struck on Monkswood Crescent just after 6pm last Friday.

The car involved was a grey Toyota Yaris.

A man and woman can be seen in the footage police have recovered as part of its investigation. Officers believe they are involved and need to speak to them urgently.

Anyone who recognises them, saw anything, or has any dash cam footage from the area around that should call police on 101 or get in touch via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “If this was you, please do the right thing and get in touch.

“A young girl is seriously injured and we need to understand what happened.”
