Vehicle recovery worker seriously hurt after he was hit by a car in Coventry

A VEHICLE recovery worker was seriously hurt after being hit by a car in Coventry.

The man, who is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries, was struck by a Jaguar XJ on A45 Dunchurch Highway at around 6.45pm yesterday (Monday).

He had been called to assist with the recovery of another vehicle which had overturned.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended.




The man received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

The doctor from the air ambulance travelled with the patient to continue treatment en-route.


No-one else was injured.

Police want anyone on the dual carriageway, between Broad Lane and Suffolk Close, to come forward with information and dash cam footage.
