A UK RECRUITMENT company is calling for 5,600 temporary pickers and packers to work in retail warehouses across the Midlands as part of a major national recruitment drive in the run up to Christmas.

With an expected £1billion in online sales, Coventry based PMP Recruitmentis are urgently looking to find 2,000 workers from the city to parcel up items and gifts in retail warehouses over the festive season.

18,000 temporary pickers are expected to be hired nationally – and ten per cent of these temporary jobs are expected to turn into permanent positions after the festive season.

PMP is part of Cordant Recruitment – the second largest privately owned recruitment company in the UK.

The company supply tens of thousands of flexible workers to 320 managed retail locations up and down the country with salaries ranging from £6.70 per hour to £10.49 per hour.

Crucially, as part of the temporary jobs on offer, PMP are also providing transport to the work service from Coventry on certain jobs.

Derek Skelton, managing director of PMP Recruitment, said: “This is the busiest year so far in terms of demand for workers over the festive season.

“Reports show that retailers are expecting another bumper Christmas with record breaking sales and we are working with our clients across the UK, supplying them with the hands they need to ensure that consumers get their gifts on time.

“Flexible working is great for people of all ages and circumstances.

“Someone may be seeking a second job to cover the cost of Christmas or a parent looking for work to fit around family commitments, or a student using the money to financially support their studies.

“We are always looking for people to place in a variety of roles and in particular pickers and packers.”
