Two arrests in connection with fatal Coventry stabbing

TWO people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Coventry.

Detectives investigating the incident in Earlsdon swooped overnight on Sunday/Monday.

A 21-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.




A 35-year-old local man had been found with serious injuries on the car park of the BP petrol station in The Butts, Coventry at 1.50am Sunday, June 11.

The man was taken to hospital, where he was a critical condition.


Police confirmed he died yesterday afternoon (Monday).

Police continue to investigate the incident and forensic examinations of the scene continued yesterday.

Detective Inspector Justin Spanner said: “Sadly we are now looking at a murder investigation and I would ask anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.

“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family as they come to terms with their loss.”
