Two 18-year-olds have died and two injured in serious Coventry crash

TWO 18-year-olds have died and two others have been injured after a car hit a tree on Burns Road, Coventry, this morning.

Poluce were called at 5.20am to the road, near the junction with Longfellow Road and Walsgrave Road.

The driver and a passenger from the car, both aged 18, were sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Police said their thoughts were with their family and friends at this time.




Two other boys – also aged 18 – believed to have been passengers also suffered serious injuries and are currently at hospital.

Burns Road at the junction of Walsgrave Road and Longfellow Road will remain closed for most of the morning.


Det Sgt Paul Hughes from West Midlands Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We’re working hard to find out how the collision happened.”

He urged anyone in the area at the time who either saw what happened or have dash cam footage, please get in touch.
