Coventry Editorial 17th Jan, 2022   0

THERE is severe disruption and heavy traffic on the M6 after two lorries collided leading to a fuel spillage.

It happened at the Junction 3 island and is causing delays for traffic exiting the motorway and both ways on the A444.

The emergency services and Highways England officers are at the scene and dealing with the spillage.

The southbound carriageway was already closed from Junction 3 of the M6 following an earlier fatal crash.

All traffic caught up within the M6 southbound closure between Junction 3 (Bedworth) and Junction 2 (Coventry) has been released past the scene.

The carriageway remains closed for ongoing collision investigation and vehicle recovery.

There is 3.3miles worth of congestion on the approach to Junction 3, bringing delays of up to an hour.

Drivers should avoid the area and follow the diversions which have been put in place.
