I WISH everyone in Coventry South a very merry Christmas and happy new year.
This has been my first year as the MP for Coventry South. It is the honour of my life.
I have had the pleasure to meet many organisations and people from across the constituency.
But this year has been incredibly difficult for people in our city.
The pandemic has taken a huge toll on lives, livelihoods and peoples’ well-being.
Now, during this holiday season, many people are not able to celebrate with loved ones.
The truth is, I have been horrified by the Government’s handling of this pandemic.
That’s why I have consistently spoken out and voted to protect the interests of people in Coventry.
But the history of our city is testament to the fact that we can rebuild.
In 2021, I will fight tooth-and-nail for a fair and green recovery for our city – creating jobs through investing in sustainable industries, raising wages and social security support, and making the super-rich pay their fair share of tax.
Together, we can build a brighter future.
