POLICE in Coventry have launched an investigation after an alleged shooting in the city centre last night (Thursday, September 17), leaving three men injured, two seriously.

The alleged incident occurred on Far Gosford Street at around 10.15pm.

The three victims were taken to hospital – two with serious injuries, and a third with more minor injuries.

Police say the suspect left in a dark-coloured vehicle and they are appealing to anyone with any information, a dash-cam or mobile phone footage to get in touch immediately.

Far Gosford Street is closed while police forensically examine the scene.

Chief Insp Paul Minor, of Coventry police, said: “We’ll be stepping up patrols in the area over the coming days. This was outrageous violence on the streets of the city centre and we’re doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
