Thoughtful nursery staff donate gift hampers to workers on Coventry’s cancer ward

THOUGHTFUL practitioners from Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry have been creating gift hampers to deliver to heroic key workers at University Hospital Coventry’s cancer ward.

Staff from the nursery at Westwood Business Park have been collecting beauty items, sweet treats and cupboard essentials to show their appreciation for the continued dedication of doctors and nurses through the Coronavirus outbreak.

Children from the nursery also showcased their creativity by making artwork and writing poems to display across the ward.

Westwood Day Nursery deputy manager Michelle Packeer said: “We have been thinking a lot recently about how we can help to support inspirational people in the community, and as Cancer Research UK is our charity partner for the year, we thought this would be extremely fitting.

“It is a cause that is close to the hearts of so many, including myself as I lost my dad six months ago to the disease.

“We have been so delighted with the amount of donations we received, and the hospital colleagues were incredibly grateful.”
