Thief who stole life-saving equipment from fire engine jailed

A THIEF who stole life-saving equipment from a fire engine has been jailed.

Matthew Pinfield, of Lady Lane, Coventry, was given a six month sentence after he pleaded guilty to the theft in October.

The 26-year-old targeted the vehicle when it was parked outside All Saints Primary School in Warwick.

An accomplice who was with Pinfield has not been caught.

PC Will Fuller said: “The equipment stolen is used to save people’s lives. The offenders showed complete contempt for our emergency service colleagues and the important role they play in saving lives.

“I would like to thank West Midlands Police who arrested Pinfield on our behalf and help secure the conviction.”

Police are still hunting the other man captured on CCTV.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
