QUICK-acting police officers have arrested a man in Coventry this morning just 20 minutes after stealing a delivery driver’s vehicle in a car-jacking.

The officers were flagged down by the motorist at 7.45am after he had been threatened and robbed of his Ford Galaxy in Parkhill Drive.

The man demanded the driver, who was in his 40s, hand over the keys to the Galaxy and then he drove off in the stolen vehicle.

But it was soon spotted by officers on patrol in Hersall Lane.

They began a pursuit which ended with the Galaxy being brought to a stop, with the help of traffic officers, in Radford Road just after 8am.

Officers arrested one man on suspicion of robbery, dangerous driving, failing to stop and drink-driving.

A van waiting in traffic in Radford Road, suffered minor damage as the Galaxy came to a halt.

The 26-year-old man remains in police custody this afternoon for questioning.

Thankfully the delivery driver wasn’t injured in the robbery and our investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information should submit it via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk, or by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
