CARDINAL Wiseman Catholic School is celebrating another successful year of A Level results.

The Coventry school, part of the Romero Catholic Academy, welcomed students to its library to collect their grades.

Richard Kingshott, assistant principal and head of sixth form at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, said: “I would like to congratulate all of our students on their fantastic achievements.

“Their sixth form experience has been impinged by Covid, but they have shown determination, resilience and diligence and should be immensely proud of themselves.

“They have been equipped with the skills they need to succeed in their next steps and beyond, and we wish them the very best of luck for the future.”

Principal Matthew Everett added: “After what has been an extraordinary academic year, we would like to pay tribute to all of our students.

“They have worked immensely hard to achieve the results they deserve during what has been an incredibly difficult time, and it’s excellent to see that every student who wanted to go on to university has achieved a place.

“I would also like to thank all of our staff who have gone above and beyond to support the students.

“We are thrilled to have helped our students achieve these results.

“These pupils will hopefully become a big part of our alumni group, The Wiseman Connection, and help to inspire future students to become high achievers.”

Individual success stories include Joe Davies. He achieved an A* in English Literature, an A in Photography and an A in Media studies and is going on to study Art and Design at Coventry University.

“I tried my hardest and expected some decent results, but I’m really shocked at what I have achieved.

“I’ve actually enjoyed home working and I am now really looking forward to going to university and seeing where that takes me.”

Ben Mangan achieved an A in Maths, an A in Economics, an A in PE and a B in Chemistry and is going on to study Sports Technology at Loughborough University.

He said: “I’m really happy with my grades, there was a level of pressure studying four A Levels, but they are all subjects that I enjoy.

“Cardinal Wiseman has been really nice school to study at and I’ve enjoyed my time here.

“Sports Technology combines PE and engineering which are the two areas that I enjoy the most, so it’s great that there is a course which has elements of both. I’m now looking forward to seeing where this takes me.”
