Severn Trent begins work on upgrading Coventry's water pipes as part of £3million upgrade

Coventry Editorial 23rd Dec, 2021   0

WORK has started on upgrading Coventry’s water pipe network as part of a £3million replacement scheme by Severn Trent.

A total of 15km of water pipes will be replaced in total, improving reliability and reducing leaks and bursts.

Among the first in Coventry will be in Windmill Hill, Allesley – between Birmingham Road and Butt Lane, along with Cameron Close, Harvey Close and Mackenzie Close.

The project is expected to take six months to complete.

Shannon Currall, from Severn Trent, said: “We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience as we get this essential work done.”

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary multi-way traffic lights will be in place throughout the project.
