WAR MEMORIAL Park will again fall silent this weekend as Coventry marks Victory in Japan Day.
The service, which is open to all, will see Lord Mayor Coun Michael Hammon and the City of Coventry ex- Services Standard Bearers Association among those gathered to pay their respects to the servicemen and women who served in the Far East Conflict from 1941 to 1945.
A parade of ex-servicemen will march from the main gates and arrive at the Cenotaph in time for the service at , which will be led by the Bishop of Warwick and see wreaths laid by civic parties.
The VJ Day services will commence at 10.30am on Saturday, August 15 with attendees encouraged to be at the Cenotaph by 10.15am.
