FREE parking gets under way today (Saturday, December 19) at Coventry City Council car parks.
Between now and midnight on Boxing Day, motorists will not have to pay when they leave their vehicles at 19 car parks.
Coun Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member for City Services, said: “We hope that by allowing people to park for free, we can encourage people to shop safely this Christmas, supporting both businesses and retailers inside the city centre and out.”
“It also means people can choose where they want to park, maybe choosing car parks which are normally quieter than others to allow for more social distancing.
“Of course, if you are visiting any shops, please do remember to follow guidelines and remember, Hands, Face, Space to help everyone stay safe this Christmas.”
