Renowned DJs heading to Coventry Cathedral for this weekend's Family Rave

A FAMILY rave will take place at Coventry Cathedral from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, March 5, as part of this year’s Deliaphonic festival and the UK City of Culture.

The event has been organised by Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF) and is wet to feature world renowned DJs Dr Alex Paterson (The Orb) and Taitsy (Awesome 3) who will be putting on an electronic special to celebrate the life and work of the genre’s pioneer, Delia Derbyshire.

World-famous, award-winning, Glastonbury Festival performing, original family rave sensation, Big Fish Little Fish are coming to rave in the nave!

Taitsy said: “If it wasn’t for Delia I don’t think dance music would be where it is today.

“She’s got to be up there with the legends that are Kraftwork.

“Totally honoured to be part of Big Fish Little Fish”

Delia famously created Expect electronic, ambient house and funky sounds (at a volume safe for little ears) from world-famous DJs, Dr Alex Paterson and Awesome 3’s Taitsy.

The multi-sensory dancefloor will be filled with confetti cannons, snow foam, bubbles, giant balloons, all topped off with our famous parachute dance.

Regional manager Sophie Parekh said: “It’s a real privilege to be asked to be part of the Delia Derbyshire festival.

“At Big Fish Little Fish, we are fully committed to always play the very best music out there.”

This event will also feature an interactive music installation – Sonic Sound as well as a themed craft-making table, baby chill area with a small ball pool, toddler tents and tunnels, bespoke giant colouring-in mural, playdoh table, free childrens squash and glitter tattoos.

BFLF have won ‘Best Family Event’ five times at the Fantastic For Families Awards, held raves at Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Pride, night clubs and other venues all over the UK and Australia.

It has also been featured on BBC News, BBC 6 Music, the BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend and in several national newspapers.
