TWO 17-year-old boys arrested following the killing of a boy in Coventry have been detained for further questioning.

Police have named the dead boy as Ramani Morgan, of Erdington in Birmingham.

Ramani was fatally stabbed.

Magistrates have given officers more time to question the teens arrested.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We’ve been given more time to question the 17-year-olds over the death of Ramani, who was found collapsed on Clay Lane in the Stoke area at around 10:30pm on Saturday (29 February). He had been stabbed.

“We believe trouble may have flared a short time earlier at a house party in Chandos Street. A post-mortem will take place today.

“We have spoken to a number of people who were at the party, but still need to hear from anyone with information.

“Get in touch with us via Live Chat at west-midlands.pnn.police.uk, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Paramedics attending the scene found Ramani with ‘multiple injuries’.

They confirmed Ramani died at hospital – a spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance said: “We were called at 10:30pm on Saturday to reports of a stabbing in Clay Lane in Coventry.

“The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care car attended, along with an ambulance and paramedic officer. Upon arrival, crews found a teenage boy in a critical condition and quickly worked to administer advanced life support on scene.

“Staff continued treatment on blue lights to hospital. But unfortunately, despite the best efforts of staff, nothing could be done to save the boy and he was confirmed dead at hospital.”
