POLL: Would you support Coventry Bees if they run at Leicester in the National League next season? Take our poll

Coventry Editorial 20th Nov, 2017 Updated: 20th Nov, 2017   0

AS part of the Coventry Observer’s ongoing ‘Save Our Bees’ campaign, fans are being asked to vote in an online poll.

The poll asks if supporters of the world-famous Coventry Bees speedway club would make the 50-mile round trip to support the team if they were to compete in next year’s National League – the sport’s lowest tier.

Last week, Bees promoter Mick Horton announced plans to run National League speedway – an amateur league – under Bees’ name at Leicester with meetings taking place on Sunday afternoons.

Fans reacted negatively to the news, with the majority stating they had little interest in watching Bees compete in the lowest tier 25-miles from the club’s traditional Brandon home.

But some others said it would be good to see Bees’ name return to the spotlight, even if it meant by a groundshare agreement and in third division.

The news follows months of ongoing off-track issues.

In February, the club was made homeless when the BSPA axed the club from the SGB Premiership following a last-minute deal to race at Leicester Speedway.

Following the announcement, our ‘Save Our Bees’ campaign has supported the following.

1. Getting the world-famous Coventry Bees back on track for the 2018 SGB Premiership season.

2. Ensuring a long-term plan is developed so the Bees can look forward to a bright future away from their Brandon home once a potential lease ends.

Our survey is below. Please click either ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to register your vote.
