POLICE have released CCTV images after an air rifle was fired in a Coventry park on Saturday, July 18.

Officers want to identify the man in the blue and white Adidas t-shirt, but believe the other men in the footage are witnesses and hold vital information about what happened.

The shooting took place in Lake View Park, on Lake View Road, at around 4.15pm.

The victim, a 57-year-old woman, was enjoying a picnic in the park with her family when they spotted a white man with short hair carrying an air rifle.

Three shots were fired and the victim received an injury to the leg.

Detectives working on the case are keen to track down the individuals in the CCTV as soon as possible.

Anyone with any information is urged to call DC Sarah Vaughan on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111
