A POLICE officer has been charged over an alleged baton attack in which a man sustained a wound to his head in Coventry.
West Midlands Police officer Sunil Narr is due to appear in court tomorrow accused of assault causing actual bodily harm.
An IOPC spokesperson said: “Police Constable Sunil Narr has been charged in connection with an incident in the Hillfields area of Coventry early on August 1 last year when a man was detained following a police pursuit.
“We began our investigation following a referral from West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charge last month (September).
“PC Narr will make his first appearance before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday, October 25).”
