POLICE in Coventry are investigating after a video emerged online which appears to show a fisherman being assaulted in the city.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday, September 23, shows a fisherman at Swanswell Park being pushed into the pond.

Officers are now working to identify the man and the suspect who appears in the video.

Inspector Johanna Comer, from Coventry Police, said: “At this stage no one has come forward to us and we would appeal to anyone who knows him or has any information to come forward and contact us.

“It’s unclear exactly when this happened but the video shows a number of people in the area at the time and we would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to call us on 101 as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact the Duty Inspector at Coventry Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
