A PEDESTRIAN has been seriously injured following a collision with a car in Coventry on Saturday night (December 17).

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was hurt in a collision with a silver Jaguar on Ansty Road, near the Red Lion pub, at around 11.30pm.

The 57 year-old victim, from Coventry, was taken to University Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The investigation is in its early stages and enquiries are continuing.

“A number of witnesses have already come forward but I would appeal to anyone else who may have witnessed what happened to contact us.

“The collision occurred on the duel carriageway out of Coventry.

“The family of the man who has been injured are aware and with him at this time.”

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or call Sgt Alan Wood at the collision investigation unit on 101.
